Free for the taking, Queen Anne's lace marches in neat rows along our country road almost as if it had been planted.
But this is a wildflower — or a weed — I'm never quite sure how to tell the difference. At any rate, I don't have to feel guilty about (photo) 'stealing' these beauties from any of our neighbors. They really are free for the taking.
Easy to overlook, because they are so common — just so 'always there.' But see how delicate they are when you look closely. This is the underneath side.
A reminder that even if the sky is a bit gray and the birds refuse to pose (or even to show up) there is still always something lovely to see on a morning nature walk.
