FEBRUARY morning at Fern Ridge Shores.

 

Hunting season ended last weekend and so the Canada geese are flying lower and louder and this is our alarm clock.  I wish there were sound effects!

One hour later, the sky looked like this:

And it stayed that way for the rest of the day — except without the sun.  You have to rise and shine with the geese to see much color these days.

    Hi Sally, love your shot. Thanks for visiting. I couldn’t locate “contact” info, so I’m replying to your comment on my Sky Watch. I don’t use a tripod, but I’ve learned to “steady” my point and shoot against some thing steady, like a post, in order to get an acceptable moon shot.

    Wonderful skies, Sallie. I’m not sure what the ladders are supposed to symbolise in front of teh leisure centre. I’ve seen a ladder sculpture before at another sport venue, Sydney Olympic Park. That artist said that the ladder in the context of sport suggests the desire to ascend, to scale heights, to climb up, to improve, to achieve, to transcend one’s limitations.     I love the glow in that last shot and the way you composed the shot through the draping tree limbs. It’s beautiful!

    Sallie, they are both just fabulous shots. I can imagine the noise that that many geese made flying through that splendid morning sky, and although the rest of the day may have been dour the sun through that greenish mist and the silhouette of the tree make a very dramatic picture.
