RED VINES

This cheerful red vine is just blooming away all by itself where one of our neighbors has left for the season.  Since they left, I don't believe it gets any special care at all. The resort staff takes care of the grass and public areas, even during the off season, but not individual yards. 

If I still gardened, this would be my kind of flower!

    I have several bougainvilleas in our yard. They’re so pretty. And evergreen in our neck of the woods….that’s what I like. The color on the plant is not the flower….those are called brackets…the white in the center only is the flower.

    That’s a gorgeous bougainvillea. They don’t need much care when they find a spot they like. Our previous neighbors had a plant which grew to cover the front of their entire home, without any care at all, but the CA climate with ocean air was perfect for it.

    I grow bougainvilla here in B.C. in the summertime but if I forget to take the plant in over winter then I have to buy a new one and they are not cheap here. Still I often forget.

    That’s my kind of gardening too. I don’t recall seeing this before but, if it’s bouganvilla, then I have seen it in Southern California. I bet it feels kinda good to have the resort to yourselves.

    I love the bouganvilla and grew it in Southern California. It wouldn’t take the winter freezing here, I’m told.
