Teton 64 We missed Oregon and decided somewhere toward the end of our three-month roadtrip that we could fly back to visit family and friends (and our RV by the Lake) before we open up the Florida Canal Cottage for the Winter Season.

So we parked the now well-used RoadTrek by the Cottage, said hello to our friends at Upriver (the few who spent the summer or have arrived back early), hopped on a plane and here we are back at Fern Ridge Shores.

The picture is the Teton RV, now our home when we're on the west coast.  We lived and traveled full time in this RV and it's smaller predecessor for ten years.

For the most part, life in the slow lane suits us best, but we were happy in this instance to take advantage of Jet travel — the way we usually travel, we'd have gotten here just in time to turn around.

Here's the morning view that greeted us today from the RV window.  Happy to be in Oregon for a while –  or at least we will be when we figure out what time it is!

We appreciate all visitors and commenters! Thank you.

  2. What a glorious way to start the day!

  3. Filing this away in our future travel notes. If we ever get to Eugene we will be sure to visit Brandon.
I believe I mentioned I have family in Eugene. I am sending them a big box of Gumdrops today. Apparently, they can not find them there and what to make our families traditional gumdrop cakes for Christmas.
I would be delighted if the snow stays up north and leaves us alone this year. Does not appear that will happen. We had flurries on Thanksgiving along with sleet and rain.
Hope all is well on your end. Have a great holiday season.

  4. Stella

Hope you have a wonderful Turkey Day with the kids and that the coast is filled with sunshine. Have fun!

  5. I love your Oregon shots – it’s kind of funny that my kids’ dad lives in Florida … and I live in Oregon! They both are truly beautiful states! Thank you for your visit to Random Hearts – I hope to see you again!

  6. Both Oregon and Florida are great states. I’m sure you will be happy in both places. Lovly shot.

  7. Lucky and happy you to be on that wonderful trip !!!

  8. Beautiful shot with the sun coming over the hill.
    Darryl and Ruth : )

  9. Fascinating-have you ever thought of publishing (part of) this blog?

  10. I’m thinking the same as Diane…..charmed life. I’m old enough and smart enough to know there’s no such thing as a 100% charmed life, but you’re pretty darn close.
Because I’m away from blogging for big chunks of time, I lose track of where you are and what you’re doing. That’s doesn’t mean you don’t cross my mind often.
Now I’m off to check out your latest post.
From donna — your blogger friend that only travels as far as the next county. lol

  11. Welcome home – how cold does it get there in the winter? Looks beautiful. sandie

  12. You live a charmed life. Enjoy!

  13. Was so please you took time out from your trip to drop by my place. How wonderful that would be to travel the world as you are. I have been to Oregon only twice. Each time as a bad experience, and it rained too much. I am not planning anymore trips there. Enjoy your stay and the rest of your journey. Also, thanks for the information. I was not aware that some followers are not shown. I learn something new in this blog world everyday.

  14. That is such a lovely shot. Slowing down to see what’s around you is always an eye-opener.

  15. I’ve always wanted to travel in one of those! The view is gorgeous 😀
    Safe travels!

  16. Hi Sallie, thanks for the compliments on my macro shot. I use a macro lens filter for a more closer shot. It takes practice, cause I got a lot of blurry photos.

  17. what a wonderful misty morning view!

  18. Black rafting: it is black, you do it inside a cave. Now I think of it, it is just like the miners in Chile.
We didn’t have a raft, but we have oversized tyres.
The water is less swift, but the darkness gives a eerie feeling.

  19. Hi Sallie, I love your life style, in that great RV! Touring and visiting the entire US!

  20. Hildred and Charles

Hi Sallie, – lovely that you are here on the west coast, – I like to think of you nearby. Beautiful view out of your RV Window – I could become very attached to that!

  21. How lovely! Thanks for visiting me!

  22. Hi Sallie,
i can never guess where I’m going to find you! I’m hoping for a spring van trip to Oregon – possibly the Ashland/Bend area. We’d take our bikes.

  23. Our lake photos are similar with the mist over the lake. We have a 17 ft. Basstracker boat and we were able to use it on Lake Seneca ( beautiful lake ) 3rd largest in Ohio with Lake Erie being #1.. We got back home today and I “winterized” the boat next job will be all the leaves LOL.

  24. Glad you had a fun trip. Isn’t always fun to spend time with friends and relatives. I need to visit my mother in Tacoma as she isn’t doing well.
We own a Teton too. That’s what we used to travel in. Did you ever go to any of the rallys? If so we may have meant at one time.

  25. Lovely photos…the one overlooking the lake is serene.
    Enjoy your time!

  26. What a gorgeous view to wake up to!!!
    Wonderful shots.

  27. I was wondering if you would get back to Oregon. I would have made the same choice, fly.
I ejoyed your pictures of St. Augustine and find that similar shots caught my camer’s eye when we were there. One difference, the Lion Bridge was still being reconstructed and my shot was a shadow shot of the temporary bridge.
Enjoy your visit, Oregon is lovely any time of the year.

  28. What a gorgeous view! I would love to wake up to a view like that every morning. 🙂

  29. You made it back to Florida, jetted to see family in Oregon, and then will go back to your cottage in Florida. I’m jealous – but in a nice way. Sounds like you are having some real fun!

  30. Your beautiful Oregon view definitely has a Wow factor, Sallie. Enjoy your time with Family and friends. I look forward to seeing much more of Oregon.

  31. I would love to visit Oregon sometime,,,from your photo, it looks so beautiful. Enjoy your visit! But I bet you will be ready to get back to the warmth of Fl.

  32. Welcome back! And what a lovely view you have to keep you company.

  33. How nice that you are back in your other home. I bet you missed that RV. We are planning to be in Oregon (Portland) for Christmas. We are going to drive up but not bring the RV. I’m also looking forward to seeing Oregon again. It is such a beautiful place. Enjoy your family and friends.

  34. It sounds as though you are thoroughly enjoying life. As I am new to your blog I am not sure where your RV is (or if you have more than one?) or where you are now. The Florida Canal Cottage sounds lovely – do you spend the winter there? What an interesting life you live.

  35. Glad to hear you made it back to Florida safe and back visiting with family and friends in Oregon. Have a great visit and a safe return to Florida whenever that is. Jude
