BIRDING ON THE LAKE

A GLIMPSE OF WHERE WE'RE STAYING RIGHT NOW FOR THAT'S MY WORLD ON  TUESDAY

AND WATERY WEDNESDAY (click the links to see watery posts from around the world (most of them with more water than we have right now!)

There's not much water left on our (no)Lake, but the shore birds love it. Easy pickings!  This was the afternoon view from our window most days last week — the water has gone down since then and the egrets have moved on to a slightly deeper spot.

Whenever the sun comes out, even briefly, the perching birds come out to eat and play before the next shower.

We like to go outside between the showers too!  Being able to do that is one of the joys of our leisurely life.  Those sunny periods never seemed to happen during regular working hours.

We appreciate all visitors and commenters! Thank you.

  1. You’ve reminded me, I need to feed the birds still. It’s a daily ritual in our house – we live in a bird sanctuary – one my sweetheart usually does, but I take over when he’s not here. I could live in your world at this spot. Egrets are so graceful to watch, and you sure got yourself a… what… a gaggle… no that’s geese… a flock? 😀

  2. we love watching & feeding the birds too. We do not have water out side the house (unless it is bad, like flooding!) I love the blue bird. We have yet to see one. we occ see the water birds in the many marshy areas & around the rivers & small lakes. I never seem to have my camera with when some exciting is out there! poo!
    I am visiting from watery wed. have a great week!

  3. It seems that you always have the best views, no matter where you are in the country. That just proves….it’s a beautiful country.
    I enlarged the two smaller bird photos and still can’t identify them. I’m guessing that the blue one is not a bluebird. That would be too easy.
    Hope you’ve had a good Wednesday, my blogger friend who is always on the go.

  4. Bird watching is magical. Great shots

  5. ODE TO WATER
    Water seekers cannot get
    Too much moisture, too much wet;
    Though they seek both far and wide,
    They will not be satisfied
    Till their eyes behold a place
    Filled with water, every space;
    Lovely stuff, that H2O—
    Water, water let it flow!
