QUIET PLEASE!

Even though it's not a very exciting picture, this just might be my favorite sign ever.  (There are times when I would like to post it on my forehead!)

We saw this a whole year ago at one of the Alaska RV Parks where we stayed.  When you register, most RV Parks hand you a little folder with vital information about the park — a map for where the bathrooms, laundry, and garbage bins are and such — and almost all of them have some variation of "Quiet Hours 10 p.m. to 7 a.m."

I liked "all the time" a LOT better!

So the sign is from Alaska, but the rest of the pictures in this post are from last week — on a  quiet afternoon walk down Jeans Road.

Autumn is already in the air around here.

We enjoy being here for this change of seasons.  Since we've been living in Florida part of the year, the Autumn Equinox is really the only one we have.    There's not as much difference between seasons there.

  3. I agree wit you, Salie : quiet time, all he time ! But sometimes I think it’s just a dream…

  4. a fine row of bushes at the fence ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I like that sign. On our few RV excursions we found most people were quite respectful of others’ need for peace and quiet, but there were rare exceptions, even during the “official” quiet times.

  6. This sure looks great place.

  7. I do love the changing seasons here! I love the snow and forest and swamp walks on snowshoes! The leaves are so pretty, too. It’s pretty dry now, and fall is in the air!
Love the signage! That’s a keeper!

  8. Great scenes in beautiful lighting. Adore that sign. But chances of that happening in my world while I am working are rather slim. Maybe when I retire…but that won’t be any time soon…

  9. Very lovely scenes. They look so peaceful. Have a great weekend!

  10. Ah yes, I could do with quiet time. Autumn, my fave time of year!

Nice area to walk in with good fences and pretty scenery.

  15. Nice post Sallie, – a good reminder of how important quiet time is….

  16. some pretty spots!! i like quiet time, some of the time but not all of the time ๐Ÿ˜‰

  18. Sallie I could definitely use one of those signs! I am also so glad to see fall around the bend..now if the temps would just drop a bit more, I would be in my happy place!

  19. I love hearing about the RV life. My cousins, who RV don’t write often enough.

  20. I’d love quiet time, all the time.

  22. oh yes, it’s nice to have some quiet time and Autumn is my favourite time of year, pity we won’t see it until March next year.

  23. Sure is a beautiful sign Sallie.

  24. I like quiet time too! It’s definitely turned fall-ish here. I am a little sad to say goodbye to the heat and the long days though. I hate those short days of winter.

  25. Beautiful photos.
Thank you for visiting me ๐Ÿ™‚

  26. I’m lovin that sign! I think that it might be useful for me too to put it on the forehead ๐Ÿ™‚
Signs of fall at my place are seen now as well. It’s nice, I just feel a bit nostalgic about summer.

  27. I could use that sign, Sallie. It is finally cool enough to open the windows, which is nice. A refreshing breeze is coming through – BUT, sounds like a party out there with the tree toads, locusts, and crickets. ๐Ÿ™‚ It is feeling a bit like fall, and it is starting to look like fall here. Enjoy your changing season there, Sallie – shhhhhh.

  28. Quiet is a precious commodity these days! Lovely shots.

  29. I agree! I like quiet time ALL the time. Shrieking screaming, griping…roaring…gunning the motor…shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That’s enough now. SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  31. Yep, me too, that’s my kind of sign.
    My SIGNS, SIGNS

  32. That’s my kind of sign for sure!

  33. Quiet time! I love it!
Thanks for your ccomment! Now I know why King Salomon was so prickly!

  34. I need that sign, too! We drove to Glenwood today on an errand. There is some change of color, but not too much yet. It will all happen at once in about a week. Last night it went to freezing at our house.

  35. I think I would miss the changing seasons. Love that sign.

  36. I am always amazed at people that go camping, only to have music blaring. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing I like better than to have music blaring when I clean house. Or sometimes if I am driving by myself. But, when I want to get out, I want away from all that. And I don’t want it all the time anywhere….
Love that last picture. Fall is definitely in the air here, too.

  37. I’m all for Quiet Time ALL the time too!
And wishing it were Fall-like here, but no go.
Golden leaves, cool air…I can see and feel it all from your photos shared. Lovely.

  38. i’m liking that idea, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  39. tom the backroads traveller

    I like quiet time!

  40. I like that sign a lot, too. Especially when out shopping. We were in a store a couple of days ago where they had “music” blaring at high volume through speaks around the store. Women actually screaming (they’d call it singing, but it wasn’t)! It’s terrible. I complained once at our local mall and I was told they couldn’t change it.
Fortunately, we do get more of a change of seasons here in Ocala and I’m looking forward to dryer and cooler weather. But already we can taste the change.

  41. Love the sign, Sallie! It is still very warm here in Toronto and the only sign of Autumn is that the days are getting shorter which isn;t a nice thing. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  42. I’m with you on this sign! There are other places to go to if you want to be loud.

  43. I’m with you Sallie. Quiet times are best when it’s all quiet all the time. In fact if everyone practiced being quiet, they would hear a lot more.

  44. I love this sign.Last night, it was cold in the UK Midlands. After a slight frost early on, it warmed up for lunch time and may reach 20C tomorrow and Friday-before becoming colder and wet!!

  45. That is a great sign Sallie and I enjoyed your other photos too. Have a great day ๐Ÿ™‚

  46. Quiet time all the time – seems like a motto to live your life by! It would certainly draw me in.

  47. Hello Sallie, great sign. I like my quiet time too. Lovely sky and lighting. Cool shadows and fence image. Have a happy day!
