DOWNTOWN FORT MYERS from the water

For WATERY WEDNESDAY, just because.  I love looking at this site for pictures by other water-lovers and haven't posted to it for a while.  

Except for the fuel dock that I wrote about earlier this week, there is really no place to tie up in downtown Fort Myers.  That's too bad, because we would visit the downtown more often if we could go by boat.    On the surrounding islands, there are many little restaurants and tiki bars where you can stop for a meal or liquid libation, if that is your thing — and then walk around a bit.  It is an adventure just to go to lunch by boat.  Whereas driving in the car to downtown Fort Myers — not so much!  So we just motor past it.

    Sallie, your photos of the bridge and Fort Myers by water are wonderful. I can’t imagine a better way to see them.

    I agree – don’t they see the money they are losing. How cool is all that. You can take your boat to lunch – have a drink – then come home!!!!

    Don’t they realize the money they are losing by not having docks for the boats to tie up to? Seems silly to me.
    Love that blue, blue water, and SUNSHINE! Sure do miss that here in the rainy state! LOL!
    BTW, the campground we are at is called Snoqualmie RV Park in Snoqualmie, WA. Nothing fancy, but in a nice area. $38 a night, on the pricey side, but comparable to the area.

    Just being on the water is fun enough for me. We do have a few places on our lakes here where you can tie up and have lunch but that is about it. Are you headed back to the west coast soon? I know this is about the time we always headed home.

    That is a bit remiss of town planners. Anyway lunch on the islands sounds more fun. Great water shots and not hard for someone who is lucky enough to live by the water. Lucky ducks.
