LINKED TO MELLOW YELLOW MONDAY (Orange is a sort of yellow, don't you think?)
It's orange-growing season around here. Most Florida oranges are grown for juice, although it is possible to get some good eating ones. The groves are fun to see as you drive out in the country.
Trucks of oranges going from farm to juice plants are common sights along our roads.

I made my first visit to Florida in 1979. I stopped and ran into a orange grove and picked a green orange for a keepsake. I still have it, all dried and shriveled on a display stand along with the one I took from a tree on my first trip to California.
Love oranges. I’ve got 20 quarts of peaches left from last summers crop.
Maybe this is a silly question…but are drinking oranges different from eating oranges???
How fabulous to live in an orange growing area. Most house gardens have some sort of citrus tree where I live. We have lemons, mandarins and limes in our garden but many areas in the South Island are too cold for any citrus at all. I wouldn’t like that.
Wow that’s alot of Oranges, I take it from this the crop was not adversely affected by the weather late last year, as they said it might be.
We are in citrus country here, but just barely. We had a couple of freezes and I had to cover my dwarf trees.
Hmmmm.. I want me some fresh orange juice, please!

I think the best Florida oranges are the Honeybells. They are so sweet and delicious.. but you can only get them this time of year.. so you have to git while the gitten time of year is here!

Your orange tree pictures brought back wonderful memories for me. In 1954 my parents moved all of us to Southern California from Wisconsin. Our house was right across the street from an orange grove. I could ride my bike for miles and see nothing but orange trees. The air, especially early in the morning, smelled so, so good. Today, of course, it’s nothing but houses and concrete but, in my memory, it still looks like your pictures.

I am so glad these oranges were not affected by the frost. Love to have one here in our backyard but Michigan can’t grow oranges I think. Happy Monday!

The first time I went to the US was to Miami – and the fresh orange juice in the morning remains a lasting memory. I’m sure I could taste the sunshine!
